A sweet friend of mine Cheri who lives in FL shared with me a tradition their family has been doing for years. They go around and look at Christmas lights and choose the BEST decorated house. Each child (they have 4) chooses their favorite and then they take home made cookies to the family. As a child going around looking at Christmas lights was one of my favorite things to do with my family so this year we started a new tradition too and had so much fun going around and checking out all the lights and picking out our FAVORITE! This year we just chose one house but I'm sure next year Carolina Grace will have an opinion too so we'll be taking 2 batches of cookies to 2 different homes for 2009.

The WINNER had snowflakes hanging all around the outside of the house as well as lit up packages at the front door which Ella Rose loved. The family had 2 children, and they seemed excited to be the recipient of the award for "best decorated home" as well as the recipient of homemade cookies too.

LOVE IT-but you guys are troopers walking around in the cold looking at all the lights-we drive around because we usually go to more than one neighborhood. Our kids have scouted out the houses way before the night we deliver the cookies. I do like the idea of taking them on the 23rd though -we are so busy on the 24th and it gets kind of hectic that day so I think we might do it on the 23rd next year.
Hey Vonda-where did you get the "stuffed" nativity set. That is a cute idea.
