Celebrating Ms. Bertie's birthday

We LOVE celebrating birthdays and back in May, Ms. Bertie turned 87 years old! Now if you don't know who Ms. Bertie is, she is a wonderful lady whom we met at our church who kept the nursery/children for many many years. We had the privilege of meeting her and her sweet daughter Kay when they kept Carolina Grace when we first started going to our church. You know how you just like someone immediately and it just warms your heart when you see them...well this is the way it is with Ms. Bertie and Ms. Kay...they are just GREAT folks and down to earth which I LOVE...the girls ADORE them and so do we but it's easy to love people who make it clear that they love your children!

I fixed Chicken Pot Pie and Salad for Supper

and then we had the Coconut Cake...I didn't know this but Ms. Bertie said that was one of her favorite cakes...well of course it is... she is a true Southern lady and all Southerners eat coconut!

What a precious lady and her birthday is the same day as my Papa Davis' on May 26...my Papa would have been 95 years old this year.

Every time you would see Ms. Bertie at church she was huggin' on a child or a baby...children just know they are loved by her and Ms. Kay

Carolina Grace getting in the middle of it all

I wish I would have told Ella Rose to do a "goofy face" when we went to the Dr. last week and they were concerned she may have strep...I swear you can see her tonsils in this picture!

Jackson arrives

The girls could hardly wait until their cousin Jackson arrived with Mimi and Papa

Are they sweet or what?

This was one of those "moments" shots because when Ella Rose hugs you, she closes her eyes! You can tell she certainly loves her cousin Jackson!

Lots of fun in the playroom

It was hard to get them all to stay still because they were so excited!

And he's off!

Sweet Sisters

Jackson had a blast even though our play room is very girlie but hey he found the ball within 2 minutes of arriving.

Trying to keep up with Jackson

Ian once said, "you can tell we have girls because we have fru-fru names for our rocking horses and teddy bears...names like BROWNIE (above), CUPCAKE, PINKY and CREME PUFF!

Not a care in the world

How sweet is this!

They only see each other 3-4 times a year but they pick right up where they left off!

Disney On Ice

Back in May I went to an awesome couponing workshop at our church and won 7 tickets to Disney on Ice so when Mimi, Papa, and Jackson came into town we went out for a night on the town!!! All the kids LOVED it and we adults did too and hey it was also FREE...it doesn't get any better than that to spend wonderful time with family at an event that would have normally cost us lots of $$$.

Getting ready for things to start

Jackson cracked us up...It was May in Tampa FL and it was 95 degrees outside, but he insisted on wearing his jacket...guess he thought it was going to be kinda cold since it was Disney on ICE.

Mimi and Ella Rose look mesmerized

When Mickey and Minnie hit the Ice you should have heard the screams! Everyone was so excited!

Donald Duck

I think Mimi had as much fun as the kids did, but then again Mimi has a blast EVERYWHERE she goes!

This was cool and colorful too

Ella Rose had a ball seeing all the Princesses'

So much to see!

1/2 way through the show and during the break

Papa treated everybody to ice cream which of course was AWESOME!

Jackson, my adorable nephew

Toy Story was at the very end and it was one of our favorite parts

And there's Jackson with that jacket still on...he never took it off the whole night! Hee hee!
